The Balm cosmetics

The Balm cosmetics brand has been on my radar for a while now. I have been eyeing their products for years but never went for it. The Balm is a well loved higher end brand and with international shipping, ordering can get pretty expensive. Also before purchasing, especially more expensive make-up products I like to see and swatch them in person. Yesterday I heard a good news that TheBalm is making their way into our country and I could´t be more happy. No more stalking the products on line for me. And off course I decided to make a wishlist that I am sharing with you today. Since I am not very familiar with the brand I would appreciate any suggestions or your thoughts on their products down bellow.

I have been wanting Bahama mama bronzer since I first started wearing make-up years ago. I heard so many good things about it and not to mention the packaging is so cute. Another favourite is Mary-Lou manizer. Not that I need any more powder highlighters but I really want to try this one.

Their NudeTude palette is also very popular and everyone seams to enjoy it. I don´t own many palettes and you know how much I enjoy nude eye shadows. A girl can never have to many eye shadows, am I right? The same goes for the blushes. I just love the look of The Frat Boy. The color looks so pretty.

Fall and Christmas Digital Patterns

I haven´t posted about art in a while. I have been creating a lot, especially for my shop, but it always slips my mind to share it with you. Since I last posted about scrapbooking I created another baby album, and I am just getting around to making another one. What can I say, all of a sudden everyone is having babies and everyone wants a baby album. But I am not complaining at all, you know I enjoy making albums very much. I will probably share the album I created in next week´s post.

As far as drawing and creating digital paper packs, it has all been about upcoming holidays and Fall off course. I created Fall time papers, Apple Pie patterns and also a few packs of Christmas paper. So without further ado, here are the papers.

Sweater Weather

This post is inspired by one of my favourite songs. And as much as I love The Neighbouthood´s Sweater Weather song I also love sweaters. Crazy colors, patterns but most important is the coziness. Don´t you just love the cozy feeling like you never left the bed in the morning? I love clothes that make me feel like that. What can I say? I just like to be comfortable. Usually I change to my pajamas the second I get home, so you can tell how serious I am about this.

Also I adore Christmas sweaters. Those holiday patterns are the best. Ahh it just feels like Christmas. I mean it has been super cold lately it might as well be Winter already. All I need is a hot chocolate and I am ready for Christmas. But let´s talk about my sweater wishlist. I put together a list of my fave sweaters for your inspiration. As you might notice I like to stick to white and gray colors with occasional wine red. I hope you like them.

Halloween costumes

Halloween is not a big thing here in Slovenia. There is no trick or treating, there are no crazy costumes, but we do tend to go to parties. And even though these parties are Halloween themed people usually stick to spider Web drawn on their face or some kind of mask but we don´t go crazy with scary and imaginative costumes (we have another holiday for that in February).

Still I love a good Halloween costume. Nothing scary, but pretty and easy make-up. For me easy is the most important part of Halloween make-up. I found some amazing costumes, and I would love to share with you my faves and hopefully I will use one this year. I also created a Pinterest board with more inspiration, you can take a look here.

How to DIY with decoupage

Maybe you are having one of those days when you are feeling super artsy and want to make your own unique piece of art. One of great ways to DIY is decoupage technique, which I love working with to make things I already own prettier. Paper napkins provide an ideal medium for decoupage because they are not expensive and are often printed in bold colours or patterns. You can choose whatever you like. And you have a LOT to choose from. Also, everything looks better with a touch of unique taste.

For this DIY project you will only need 5 things.

A canvas or some other object you want to make prettier or usable; like a glass or a shoe box. You can any material like wood, paper, plastic, ceramic or metal. Sky is the limit.
A decoupage glue, which is not expensive and you can buy in every art store.
A serviette with a pattern you like.
Scissors.
A paintbrush.

This technique can be used on a lot of different materials, on wood, glass, tiles, mirrors, etc. All you need is a base (whatever it is that you want to decorate), paper napkins, special napkin glue, scissors and a brush. Then you are ready to start!

Step 1

Tear or cut the pattern out of the napkin, then pull the layers apart. Use only the upper layer.

Step 2

Apply the napkin onto the glue and rub with your fingertips or with a brush from the middle to the sides until the napkin sits neatly and smooth on the object. Then apply another layer of glue onto the napkin, by using a sponge brush, as you will easily tear the wet napkin apart with a normal brush. Let everything dry.

Objects that will only be used indoors do not need to be varnished. You are all done. Simple, right? :)
